21.02. – Documentary about war in Ukraine

start: 20 Uhr
length: 1,5 h
Afterwards possibility for exchange and discussion

Two years ago, the Russian state launched a full-scale attack on Ukraine. We are showing a film about the reality of this war – a war that began in 2014 with the annexation of Crimea and the clashes over the Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts. The documentary provides an insight into the everyday life of the war and the atrocities of the Russian invasion to which the people of Ukraine are exposed.

All this is happening barely 1000 km away from us and is sometimes overshadowed by new terrible events and crises. We want to prevent the war against Ukraine from being forgotten and start a conversation about how we can show solidarity with those whose lives have been completely changed by the war, who nevertheless retain their dignity and autonomy and defend themselves in one way or another against this attack, continue to show solidarity themselves and work towards a free society in Ukraine and elsewhere after this war.

With this event, we are joining the campaign “Alerta! Alerta! Stop russian propaganda!”.

Rally: Freedom and luck for Maja, Gabriele, Tobi and Ilaria!

Saturday, January 27, 2024 | 6 p.m.
Rubinienhain Dresden (park above the Hammerweg prison)

Maja is currently in solitary confinement. This means that Maja has to be held in a specially secured detention room in addition to the already tighter conditions of pre-trial detention. In addition, the Hungarian judiciary has now submitted an extradition request to the Federal Republic of Germany. We want to prevent the extradition at all costs and put pressure on the authorities and the prison. Maja must be released from the aggravated prison conditions, Maja must not be extradited.

26.01.: Solidaritea – Writing letters to Maja and other people in prison

Solidaritea, Freitag, 26.01.23, 17 Uhr im Malobeo, Kamenzerstr. 38, 01099 Dresden

We are not all – the prisoners are missing!
Maja is still in custody here in Dresden. Extradition proceedings have now been opened. If this goes through at the Berlin Court of Appeal, Maja faces an extremely long prison sentence in Hungary, which is ruled by the fascist Fidesz party. Especially in these uncertain and precarious times, Maja can use support and solidarity more than ever. That’s why we want to write letters to Maja and other prisoners from the Budapest trial as well as other contexts such as the Day X. Let us show them that they are still not alone.

Demonstration for the International Day against Police Violence

Come to the demo in Dresden on #15MRZ: 17:30 @Alaunpark!

Last year alone, police violence in Germany escalated to the point that four people were murdered within just one week. Despite this, there is talk about further arming of police officers. The causes of the violence are not discussed.

But police behavior is not only a problem in Germany.

All over the world people experience violence and repression by the police. Both in the context of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the suppression of protest in Russia, in the protests against the regime in Iran and in the anti-zero-covid protests in China, the police played a central role and exercised massive violence against people. This shows that the police system and state repression are closely related.

For these reasons, we continue to fight and call on you to participate in the International Day Against Police Violence.
