May 31 – Anti-prison ralley – Chemnitz

Join us at the women’s prison in Chemnitz: We won’t let them take away our colors—Together against prisons, the state, and patriarchy!

On May 31, we want to go together to the women’s prison in Chemnitz to show the people inside that they are not alone and have not been forgotten.

Prison means isolation, control by others, and violence. Prison is meant to punish, discourage, and discipline so that people conform to the prescribed social order. In doing so, prison is a tool of the state to maintain the capitalist, racist, and patriarchal social order that creates social problems and violent behavior in the first place.

Prisons have always been places to punish and remove from society’s “view” prostitutes/sex workers, beggars, and those who did not fulfill their socially assigned roles and were oppressed. Even today, it is people who experience poverty and racism, do not conform to gender norms, face other forms of discrimination, or suffer from mental illness who are more likely to be incarcerated than others (e.g., through community service orders or racially biased police stops). Thus, a large proportion of prisoners are in jail due to poverty-related “offenses.”

For women, trans* people, and queers in particular, the situation in prison is often especially difficult, as the prison system is patriarchal, gender-binary, and violent. For example, specific healthcare, hormone therapy, or educational opportunities are not available. Isolation from one’s own children and social circle are further aspects that define daily life in prison. Support work is often carried out by women; when they are then in prison, they often receive little support from cis-male relatives.

We know that prisons are meant to make our society’s problems invisible by hiding people from our view. We, on the other hand, want a society in which coexistence that is as non-violent and self-determined as possible is achievable. A society in which social problems are not individualized and criminalized, but rather addressed collectively. A society in which people can take responsibility for their actions and violent behavior can truly be addressed. A society without prisons, capitalism, patriarchy, and white supremacy. And we will not let anyone take that hope away from us!

So come with us to the Chemnitz Women’s Prison and let’s create some beautiful moments for the prisoners there. We want to try to break the isolation, at least for a moment—with music, greetings, and maybe even a few live performances!

Look for group train trips from your cities.

Week of Solidarity with people in Ukraine

February 24, 2026 marks the beginning of the fifth year of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. What this means for the lives of people in Ukraine is unimaginable for most people here. Temperatures have been below freezing for weeks. Due to ongoing Russian attacks with drones and ballistic weapons on the energy infrastructure, many cities have no permanent water or electricity supply. Even in apartments in the metropolis of Kyiv, people are freezing at zero degrees.

On January 13, 2026, Holocaust survivor Yevgenia Besfamilnaya is found dead in her apartment. Besfamilnaya translates as “without a name.” As a child, she escaped the Babyn Yar massacre by the Germans in 1941 and later grew up in an orphanage. The systematic Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure proved fatal for her.

With all the crises and wars, it is easy to lose sympathy for individuals; it is numbers, cities, temperatures, drone strikes that we hear every day with half an ear on the news. Ukraine may feel very far away to the German left, and fates such as that of Yevgenia Besfamilnaya may elicit a brief moment of concern.

Some of us traveled to Ukraine ourselves last fall. We learned a lot, our perspective on many things changed, and friendships were formed. That is why we are organizing a week of solidarity with those who are now living and fighting in the fourth year of Russia’s war of aggression: a week of solidarity with the people of Ukraine!

During this week, we want to talk to comrades on the ground, discuss local organizations, get to know the Antifa Gym in Kyiv, and learn from history together with a lecture on the history of Russian imperialism! On Friday, we will show a film about anti-authoritarian activists who have decided to fight with weapons in their hands.

On February 24, a demonstration will take place in the old town to mark the sad anniversary of the Russian offensive.

Solidarity with the struggle for freedom in Ukraine and everywhere in the world where people rise up against authoritarian and fascist oppression!

Anti-authoritarians at war – a documentary by Manon Boltansky and Nico Dix

“Anti-Authoritarians at War”, a documentary by Manon Boltansky and Nico Dix, was filmed in summer 2024 in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Izium. It follows the people behind the Solidarity Collectives, both those at the forefront and those working behind the scenes. The film illustrates how people make everyday decisions under extreme pressure and how grassroots, non-hierarchical organizing persists even during war.

The film looks at difficult choices, organizing under fire, and solidarity that goes beyond borders.

SOLIDARITY COLLECTIVES is a network of volunteers and activists who support people affected by the war in Ukraine. SC provides humanitarian aid, medical supplies, evacuation support, protective gear, and logistics. Their work is based on mutual aid, horizontal organizing, and international solidarity.

Centuries of militarism of russian empire – from soviet myths of fighting against militarism to modern expansion into the whole world.

For some parts of authoritarian left Russia myth around soviet union was heavily rooted into anti-imperialism and constant struggle for the global revolution. Over 30 years after collapse of the bolsheviks regime we can look at the history of that formation and how it continued imperial policies of the russian empire before the revolution of 1917. We will also have a look at the modern Russian state that finds itself in the permanent war and continuous militarization despite promises of ending Cold War.

We will also have a look at the responses of russian anarchist, leftist and liberal circles to different rounds of wars started by the last dictator of russia Vladimir Putin and why war in Ukraine can break the back of the Emperor.
