Leftists against left extremism?

Usage of Left Extremism classification that stems from German secret services as an attempt to pressure AND and Anarchist Days

In past days it came to our knowledge that a certain individual is trying to apply pressure at least on one of the event venues from Anarchist Days to cancel the events and kick out organization from the venue. Reasons provided in the complaint are formal – Anarchist Network Dresden (AND) as well as some of our partners during Anarchist Days are considered left extremist organizations by VS and this should make those providing spaces to Anarchist Days think twice with whom they work.

A few days ago, we learned that an individual is actively trying to sabotage the Anarchist Days in Dresden. In an email to the organizers of one of the A-Days venues, it was stated that the Anarchist Network Dresden itself and several other groups represented at the A-Days with lectures were ‘left-wing extremists’ and were being monitored by the German Verfassungsschutz – so it would be better to think twice about collaborating with us.

Delegitimising left-wing, progressive politics, pushing them out of the city and criminalizing them are moves that we otherwise already know from CDU and AfD politicians. However, the person responsible for these emails is known to us and is considered as part of the left scene in Dresden by some.

We believe this is just a continuation of attempts by certain individuals to sabotage our political work as well as to take away voices of the people who give presentations during A-Days. We are also deeply concerned that more and more individuals inside Dresden left scene appeal to law constructs of the state to fight back political opponents within the city. With the saxonian regional government as well as federal government giving up into the hands of fascist organizations we see such development as a direct support of german state in its fight against left and anarchist structures.

We do not believe there is any space inside the anarchist circles for people who appeal to the states and their structures in attempt to push their own political agenda.

Anarchist Days in Dresden 2024 – call for participation

We invite you to participate in this years Anarchist Days in Dresden by means of a lecture, workshop, concert or socializing.

As anarchists we seem to be lost in the modern time of conflict. Climate disaster, economical exploitation, rise of fascism and wars make activists more confused than ready to act. And event though anarchist movement continues to grow, it fails to develop comprehensive answers to many different challenges.

Climate strike 31.05.24 – What do authoritarianism and climate change have to do with each other?

Quite simply! That would of course be too short-sighted!
Let’s briefly look at two aspects.

For a society, authoritarian politics means that political or economic solutions are implemented centrally. In the past and present, this means that large-scale projects are usually implemented over the heads of the inhabitants of affected regions. These can be dams, mining, tourism projects, company relocations and the like. Governments and businesses usually work hand in hand here. For the local people, this means that nature and their livelihoods are destroyed. Large corporations or the state itself make a profit from this.

It is not uncommon for regions to be selected for this purpose in order to suppress rebellious inhabitants and gain political control over areas by destroying the livelihoods of local people.

This is usually sold as infrastructure or development investments, allegedly created jobs or supposedly necessary energy projects.

And this brings us to the second aspect of authoritarian politics. If people do not share these perspectives, do not benefit from these projects in any case, but instead point out the destruction of the environment and the consequences for the climate and want to save the affected regions, they are criminalized, subjected to massive repression and, in some regions of the world, simply murdered.

Exploitation of resources and the destruction of nature is also taking place on a massive scale in Germany, for example through mining and its contaminated sites and the establishment of huge unnecessary corporations such as Tesla in Grünheide.

That’s why we’re also present with Stop Authoritarianism Campaign at the climate strike on 31 May in Dresden!

Against authoritarian politics!
For a decentralisation of the energy supply!
Solidarity with the climate activists affected by repression!

Meeting point 2pm at Goldener Reiter.
We wanna walk than together to Schlossplatz, where the demo starts.

*LAST CHANCE TO SAVE MALOBEO FROM CLOSING*

Hey community.

The elections in Saxony are coming… The forecast looks very bad and even malobeo is already affected by it. With the coming elections we are going to lose a big part of financial support and are not going to be able to pay the rent. This means:

!!malobeo could be forced to shut down in the next months.

Now your financial support is needed.

If you haven’t heard about it – malobeo is a self-organized anarchist library and info-shop in Neustadt, Dresden. It offers its infrastructure for plenaries of different political, such as anti-fascist, feminist/queer, anarchist, etc. collectives. The room is also used for public events like community kitchen, movie screenings, workshops, book clubs, and many more.

This is why especially in these strange and dangerous times places and communities like malobeo are not only important but indispensable.

We want this community and wonderful network to continue. And not only we but the entire city needs this place. Unlike in many other cities in Dresden there is not much left-wing infrastructure and especially in the faceof a possible AfD majority in the regional parliament these spaces are necessary.

To keep malobeo open for everyone we need your help, the financial kind!

We want to be independent from any kind of authoritarian, capitalist and state structures and need a regular income from sweet private individuals to pay the rent, internet, electricity and water.

This we want to achieve with long-term donations (standing orders, de.: Dauerauftrag).  We need around 1000€ per month. That’s a lot, but f.ex. 50 people can cover the rent with 20€/month.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

This is how you can support:

You can set your standing order (de: Dauerauftrag) to:

Miteinander Dresden e.V.*

IBAN: DE66500310001076201001 BIC: TRODDEF1 (Triodos Bank)

*malobeo is supported by an association to which you can donate

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

We thank each of you who has been and will be making malobeo possible <3 (A)
