5 years of uprising in Belarus – exhibition, guided tours & events

07. until 16. October 2025
daily 3-6 pm
at Hole of Fame, Königsbrückerstr. 39, 01099 Dresden

August 9, 2025 marked five years since the uprising in Belarus against Lukashenko’s authoritarian regime. The biggest uprising Belarus had seen since its independence. All parts of the society took to the streets. Since then, people in Belarus have been persecuted for participating in the protests and sent to prisons and camps. The repression continues to this day. At the beginning of September 1187 people were counted as political prisoners.

We would like to take this anniversary as an opportunity to look back at what happened then and how the repression continues to affect people today.

In a photo exhibition, we show the first three nights of the protests in 2020 and the reaction to the massive police violence. We look at specific social groups that participated in the protests and the importance of neighborhood meetings in the uprising. Furthermore, the exhibition shows the extent to which anarchist groups were involved in the events. And the perspective of those imprisoned will be represented through their artistic work created in prison. The specific situation in women’s prisons is also addressed.

Opening event – Tuesday, October 7, 2025 | 7 p.m.

Panel Discussion: German Staatsräson as a starting point for a leftist movement?! Migrant perspectives on Antideutsch politics [GER/EN]

Migration to Germany for political activists from around the globe can be a challenging experience. Among many other problems approach of local leftists and anti-authoritarian structures to the political crisis in the middle east can be seen as strange and quite conservative. Attempts to participate in political debates on that matter is a sure way to isolation if you do not share the established ideas within the german left and liberal society about Israel/Palestine. With all that and despite those challenges there are still a lot of migrants who continue to question the politics of unconditional support of state of Israel as well as xenophobic attitude towards people coming from Middle East.

During this panel discussion migrants organizing in Germany will share their experience of trying to deal with antideutsch tendencies deeply rooted inside leftist circles. From public debates and canceled presentations all the way to actions by german leftists against different parts of migrant communities – we share our experience with each other and those interested in attempt to find a way out of this mess.

Leftists against left extremism?

Usage of Left Extremism classification that stems from German secret services as an attempt to pressure AND and Anarchist Days

In past days it came to our knowledge that a certain individual is trying to apply pressure at least on one of the event venues from Anarchist Days to cancel the events and kick out organization from the venue. Reasons provided in the complaint are formal – Anarchist Network Dresden (AND) as well as some of our partners during Anarchist Days are considered left extremist organizations by VS and this should make those providing spaces to Anarchist Days think twice with whom they work.

A few days ago, we learned that an individual is actively trying to sabotage the Anarchist Days in Dresden. In an email to the organizers of one of the A-Days venues, it was stated that the Anarchist Network Dresden itself and several other groups represented at the A-Days with lectures were ‘left-wing extremists’ and were being monitored by the German Verfassungsschutz – so it would be better to think twice about collaborating with us.

Delegitimising left-wing, progressive politics, pushing them out of the city and criminalizing them are moves that we otherwise already know from CDU and AfD politicians. However, the person responsible for these emails is known to us and is considered as part of the left scene in Dresden by some.

We believe this is just a continuation of attempts by certain individuals to sabotage our political work as well as to take away voices of the people who give presentations during A-Days. We are also deeply concerned that more and more individuals inside Dresden left scene appeal to law constructs of the state to fight back political opponents within the city. With the saxonian regional government as well as federal government giving up into the hands of fascist organizations we see such development as a direct support of german state in its fight against left and anarchist structures.

We do not believe there is any space inside the anarchist circles for people who appeal to the states and their structures in attempt to push their own political agenda.

Militarization of the israeli society [EN]

A talk with anti-zionist, army objectors, anarchists from Tel -Aviv

After nearly two years of genocide, with tens of thousands of Palestinians murdered, including over 18,000 children, Israel continues its ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people. Every day, Israeli soldiers and their allies kill dozens of Palestinians seeking food as famine takes the lives of countless others. At the same time, armed settlers, supported by the Israeli army and encouraged by the government, are carrying out pogroms across the West Bank.

How did Israel, which refers to itself as “the only democracy in the Middle East,” become such a murderous state?

And what can be done to stop the genocide?

At home, at work, on the streets – shit doesn’t need to stay the same!

Imagine everybody has a nice place to live, a place to call home with enough space to live and to work. Imagine all of us could afford such a place – not only for a day but also for the future. Imagine the elderly people were not living in poverty, after they have been working their entire life not or poorly paid. Imagine there was nothing to worry about for them. No reason to worry about food, heating and everything else nessecary for a good life. Imagine everyone’s home would be safe from violence and repression. Imagine if people care about the condition of your home, the well-being of your children is not determined by your gender. And imagine the appointments at the emplyment office would not drain the last bit of our energy that was left for the unifying aspects in life and its beauty.

Your work wouldn’t threaten your life or your health. You could – along with your collegues- influence the way you work, what you produce, how much time you take for weach task. Work would have meaning! Work would be aligned with our needs, without harming nature. You and your collegues would be a team, without competition. You would be finally allowed care for and support one another.

So what’s needed? Nothing less than overturning the current conditions we are living in. So let’s go out on the streets for this year’s 1. MAY and let’s fight together for better living- and working conditions. Let’s turn the fear of our rights being taken back at ome and at work into collective anger and le’ts take this anger to the streets! Whether it’s that your work contract won’t be renewed due to social cuts, the f*ing Bürgergeld that was never meant to sustain a living, the erosion of your salary by inflation year after year, or the fact that your safety at work is valued less than your boss’s profit interests…

Let’s turn our anger in a collective the force that can defy this destructive capitalistic system!
