For March 8 Solidarity Collectives gathered statements from women and Queers fighting and resisting the Russian invasion. We recorded those statements to give this perspectives a voice
March 8. A day symbolizing freedom, a day motivating to fight, a day when the voices of feminists can be heard by millions of protesters walking the common path of equality.
Also this year there was a powerful and emotional rally in front of the prison in Chemnitz as part of the feminist struggle day. For seven years now we have been there to support the people in women’s prison, to raise the issue of gender-specific problems in the prison system and to demand the abolition of all prisons.
After one year, the war in Ukraine has become everyday life. For people here who are not directly affected, life simply goes on. Therefore, it was especially important for us to pause and commemorate on this anniversary of the full invasion by Russian troops.
This Saturday we are going to Chemnitz to the feminist anarchist anti-prison rally. There will be joint train journeys from Dresden and Leipzig! More information below. Bring your friends, flags and banners to the rally!
There will be the phenomenal flag choreo again this year! We call on everyone to join in! Bring scarves or flags and use this video to practice with your friends:
