Beyond Outrage: Building Material Leverage for Palestine [EN]

For almost three years we have watched a genocide broadcast live, and we have been told, again and again, that watching is all we can do. I want to start from the opposite premise: that something real has been built in these years, and that it is worth naming precisely, because we cannot sharpen what we cannot describe.

When people ask what the movement has achieved since October 2023, they usually look for the wrong evidence. They look for a ceasefire, a policy reversal, a government that changed its mind. But the deeper shift has been in what ordinary people are now willing and able to do. Dockworkers refusing to load arms shipments. Jurists organising across borders to file complaints rather than write statements. Civilians putting their bodies between settlers and Palestinian farmers in the West Bank. Boats sailing into a blockade knowing exactly what waits for them.

None of that existed at this scale three years ago. What I want to examine today is what it adds up to, where it keeps hitting the same walls, and what we should be aiming at now because the moment for improvised responses has passed. We need strategy.
